Stephen Lee "Steve" Williams, 58, of Ashland, died peacefully Thursday, June 30, 2016, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born Oct. 12, 1957, in Ashland, a son of Janice Gail Williams and the late Harold Dean Williams.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Travis Lee Willliams, who died in 2001.
In addition to his mother, his is survived by his son, Trevor Dean (Brandie) Williams; a sister, Vickie Lynn (Joe) Hemlepp; five grandchildren, Kinzee Alexis Lee Williams, Peyton Michael Williams, Journey Taylor Lee Williams, Trista Gail Williams and Trinity Ann Williams all of Ashland; two nieces, Nicole Hemlepp and Alisha Hemlepp both of Ashland; and his companion, Snoop.
Steve was a member of Unity Baptist Church and a 1975 graduate of Paul Blazer High School. He was well known locally as a highly talented and professional home painter. He was a member of the local painters union.
Steve was a loving father, a good provider, a doting grandfather and loved his grandchildren dearly. He was a great enthusiast of classic cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles and he enjoyed restoring them. He had many friends and was always known as a fun loving guy. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
The family would like to extend it's deepest thanks to his good friends, Cowboy, Tom Greene and Steve Bentley for all their help during his illness.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday July 5, 2016, at Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland by Elder Clarence Jr. Thompson. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum in Ashland. Honorary pall bearers will be Tom Greene, Steve Bentley, Trevor Williams, Buddy, Joe Hemlepp and Gary Littleton.
