John and I, along with my sister, Leslie, Mark Sneegas and a few other people carpooled to and from school together every day. Leslie or I would drive one week and Mark the next. One morning it was just John and I because the others were either sick that day or had to be at school early. John's grandmother, who lived on a farm out in the country, was out of town and John had the key to her place. He talked me into skipping school that day and we got ahold of some alcohol and drove out there. I got so wasted that when the time came to pick up the others from school, I was unable to drive. So I gave John the keys to my '64 Olds and he went to pick them up.

My dad, returning from out of town with some other people, saw someone else driving my car and used his key to take my car from the Blazer parking lot. John and Leslie came back and told me that someone had stolen the car. Was I ever relieved to see the car in our driveway when we got back home. Needless to say, I had some explaining to do to my dad.
