Obituary for Philip Stephen Rose

Philip Stephen Rose, 68, of Ashland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born on Sunday, June 2, 1957, in Ashland, a beloved son of the late Sonny and Mable Stambaugh Rose.
Philip was a dedicated boilermaker with the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local #40 and a faithful member of Christ Temple Church in Huntington, West Virginia. A man of many interests, he loved collecting a wide array of treasures—including coins, knives, and antiques. He will be remembered for his generous heart, his easygoing nature, his excitement for telling stories, and, most of all, his love of spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Philip was preceded in death by six brothers: Donald Rose, Jack Rose, Timothy Rose, James Rose, David Rose, and Robert Rose.
He is survived by his two children: a son, Stephen (Teresa) Rose of Ashland, Kentucky, and a daughter, Amanda Muzic of Ashland, Kentucky; six cherished grandchildren: Kaylie Dawn Muzic, James Landyn Muzic, Nakyan Lee Pankey, Chelbie Lynn Rose, Stephen Logan Pennington, and Michael Layne Pennington; and his devoted canine companion, Odis.
A funeral service honoring Philip’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Miller Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Burial will follow immediately at Golden Oaks Memorial Garden.
